Iran nuclear chief leaves for Brussels

TEHRAN, Sep. 12 (MNA) – Head of AEOI Ali Akbar Salehi leading a delegation departed Tehran for the Belgian capital Brussels on Monday morning.

According to the information department of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), the visit has been made at the invitation of the EU Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete and Belgian officials.

During the visit, the Iranian nuclear chief will hold talks with Cañete, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders, and a number of Belgian and EU officials. The meetings will focus on Iran’s cooperation with the EU as well as Belgium, particularly in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

It is expected that during the visit of the Iranian delegation, a number of MoUs will be agreed upon or signed between the two sides for further expansion of relations.
